Several Injured As Abuja–Kaduna Train Derails Near Asham

Asham, Kaduna State, Nigeria – Several passengers have sustained injuries after a train operating on the Abuja–Kaduna rail line derailed on Monday following an incident near Asham in Kaduna State.

Okay News reports that the Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Kayode Opeifa, confirmed the development, stating that the Abuja–Kaduna train encountered a problem during its journey.

According to him, although a number of passengers were injured in the incident, no deaths had been recorded at the time of reporting. The affected passengers were transported back to the Idu Train Station in Abuja, where they received medical attention.

The railway corporation said investigations are currently underway to determine the exact cause of the derailment along the rail corridor connecting Abuja and Kaduna.
