Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (retired), has concluded a high-level closed-door meeting at the executive chambers of the Rivers State Government House, reaffirming his commitment to delivering on his mandate. The meeting, which lasted several hours, involved discussions on critical issues affecting the state and strategies to address them effectively.

Addressing journalists shortly after the meeting, the former Chief of Naval Staff expressed his determination to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to him. He emphasized that his focus remains on achieving tangible results that will benefit the people of Rivers State.

“I am fully dedicated to this task and will ensure that the mandate given to me is executed with diligence, transparency, and accountability,” Vice Admiral Ibas stated. “My team and I are working tirelessly to address the challenges facing the state and to implement solutions that will have a lasting impact.”

While he did not disclose specific details of the discussions held during the closed-door meeting, Ibas assured the public that a comprehensive work plan would be unveiled soon. He explained that further consultations with relevant stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and other key actors, are necessary to fine-tune the strategies and ensure inclusivity in the decision-making process.

“We are in the process of finalizing our work plan, and I believe it is important to engage with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that our approach is holistic and effective,” he said. “Once these consultations are completed, we will provide the public with more details about our plans and the steps we intend to take to achieve our goals.”

As the Sole Administrator prepares to roll out his work plan, stakeholders and citizens alike are eagerly awaiting actionable steps that will tackle key areas such as infrastructure development, security, and economic growth. The coming weeks are expected to provide more clarity on the direction of his administration and the specific initiatives that will be prioritized.
