Spurs head coach Antonio Conte to undergo surgery for Cholecystitis

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte will be undergoing surgery to remove his gallbladder after suffering from severe abdominal pain on Wednesday morning.

The Italian manager was diagnosed with Cholecystitis, a condition that causes redness and swelling of the gallbladder.

According to a statement released by the club on Wednesday, Conte will be returning to the club following a period of recuperation. He is expected to miss a number of games due to the surgery.

Cristian Stellini, Conte’s assistant, is expected to take charge of the club’s next Premier League fixture against defending champions Manchester City.

The statement from the club reads, “Antonio recently became unwell with severe abdominal pain. Following a diagnosis of Cholecystitis, he will be undergoing surgery to remove his gallbladder today (Wednesday) and will return following a period of recuperation. Everyone at the club wishes him well.”
