Tinubu Celebrates Tems’ Grammy Win, Congratulates Other Nigerian Nominees

By Muhammad A. Aliyu

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Nigerian music star Tems on her victory at the 2025 Grammy Awards, held on Sunday, January 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, USA.

The event pushed forward despite the challenges posed by recent wildfires in parts of the city.

Tems clinched the prestigious award for Best African Music Performance with her hit song “Love Me Jeje”, marking her second Grammy win.

The song triumphed over other formidable nominees, including Chris Brown’s “Sensational” featuring Davido & Lojay, Yemi Alade’s “Tomorrow”, Burna Boy’s “Higher”, and Asake’s “MMS” featuring Wizkid.

Taking to his official X account on January 3, 2025, President Tinubu expressed pride in Tems’ achievements and praised her for representing Nigeria on the global stage.

He also extended his congratulations to other Nigerian artists who received Grammy nominations, recognizing their contributions to elevating African music worldwide.

Tinubu wrote: “Congratulations to @temsbaby on winning the Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance, “Love me jeje”. I am proud of her accomplishments and those of Nigerian origin who were nominated for the Grammy awards. Their achievements continue to inspire all Nigerians. Congratulations!”
