Yaya Toure Is Expecting A Tough EPL Season

By Gbolahan Adeyemi

The midfielder thinks the new season will be difficult for teams in the English topflight league with activities in the transfer market.

Manchester City ’s Yaya Toure has predicted a tough and difficult campaign for the clubs in the Premier League following their recent activities in the transfer market this summer.

The 34-year-old midfielder disclosed that he is looking forward to an exciting and a more difficult 2017-18 season with more powerful clubs challenging for the league title.

Toure who recently signed a new one-year deal with the Pep Guardiola’s side in June, is keen on winning silverware as he enters his eighth season in the Etihad Stadium.

“It is the one club [Manchester City] I have stayed at very long through my career,” Toure told SkySports.

“The fans have been so great for me and for me the time is to pay them back. It is very important to play for them and I hope this year we are going to enjoy trophies.

“The new players are going to come, I hope they are going to adapt quickly because next year we will not have time.

“This season coming, it is going to be more exciting and more difficult, because all the clubs have the power to buy good, strong players.

“So many good teams, powerful teams, so many rich clubs who can buy good players. To be honest it is going to be exciting for the fans, but for us it is going to be difficult!
“We will see what happens but I think it is going to be a tough year.”
