Zidane Snubs Bale as He Names 19-man Squad For Napoli

HIGHLIGHT

Real Madrid head coach, Zinedine Zidane, has excluded Gareth Bale in his squad for the Champions League last 16 first leg clash against Napoli on Wednesday.

Real Madrid go into the first-leg match at the Santiago Bernabeu with a squad of 19 players named on Tuesday by Zidane who may have felt Wednesday’s match has come too soon for the Welshman who has been training normally with the rest of the group following his ankle injury.

Danilo, Fabio Coentrao, Mariano, and Marco Asensio have also missed out on the list and will join Bale in watching on from the sidelines.

Cristiano Ronaldo is included, despite missing group training on Monday.

Defenders: Dani Carvajal, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane, Nacho, Marcelo

Midfielders: Toni Kroos, James Rodriguez, Casemiro, Mateo Kovacic, Luka Modric, Isco

Strikers: Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Lucas Vazquez, Alvaro Morat
