ABUJA, Nigeria – Sixteen governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) have passed a vote of confidence in Hope Uzodimma, officially reaffirming his position as the chairman of the party’s governors’ forum.
Okay News reports that the public declaration follows unverified rumors on Thursday night suggesting that Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah had been selected to take over the leadership. The state executives dismissed the claims following a closed-door meeting at the Imo State Governors’ Lodge in the nation’s capital.
The motion to retain the current leadership structure was moved by Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris. The resolution confirmed Uzodimma’s continued tenure as chairman, alongside Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani as the forum’s deputy chairman.
The gathering was attended by leaders from 16 states, including Kano, Lagos, and Borno, effectively quashing speculations of a divided house. The unified stance restores stability to the influential political bloc as the ruling party consolidates its internal structures.
