Hayatu-Deen Enters 2027 Race Under ADC

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

ABUJA, Nigeria – Renowned economist and politician Mohammed Hayatu-Deen has formally joined the 2027 presidential race after picking up the nomination form of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Okay News reports that Hayatu-Deen is the first aspirant to secure the party’s presidential forms at its national secretariat in Abuja. During the presentation on Thursday night, party officials described the move as an early demonstration of organizational strength ahead of the next general election.

The former banker pledged to focus his campaign on economic reform, specifically targeting a 60% reduction in poverty within his first four years in office. He emphasized that his governance agenda would prioritize massive job creation, tackling national insecurity, and lowering the high cost of living for Nigerians.

Addressing potential competition from political heavyweights like Atiku Abubakar, Hayatu-Deen expressed confidence in his decades of experience fixing broken institutions. He stated that his background as a visionary leader and government advisor provides him with the competence necessary to lead a responsible government.

The aspirant also committed to respecting the ADC’s internal processes, whether the party chooses to select its candidate through direct primaries or consensus. He maintained that the ultimate choice of leadership belongs to the people through a free and credible democratic contest.
