ABUJA, Nigeria – Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu has successfully passed the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial screening, officially clearing him to seek a second term in the 2027 elections.
Okay News reports that the screening exercise took place on Friday at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja. The evaluation was overseen by the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, as part of the ruling party’s formal procedures for reviewing incumbent governors ahead of the next election cycle.
Following the exercise, Governor Aliyu issued a statement expressing gratitude to the party leadership and the residents of his state for their continued support. He noted that the successful clearance reflects the confidence placed in his administration and reaffirmed his commitment to purposeful leadership and economic prosperity.
