By Yusuf Abubakar

Former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has penned a heartfelt farewell letter to fans after his recent dismissal following United’s 2-1 loss to West Ham in the Premier League.

In the letter, released on Friday, Ten Hag expressed his gratitude to the United faithful, recalling the support he felt during his tenure at Old Trafford.

In a message directed at the club’s supporters, Ten Hag wrote, “Thank you for always being there for the club. The atmosphere at Old Trafford has always been electrifying, thanks to you. I felt it many times.” He continued to praise United fans for their support on the road, noting how the chants and cheers brought him and the team a sense of unity and pride, “whether the game was in England, Europe or during the summer tours.”

Reflecting on his achievements with the club, Ten Hag acknowledged the two trophies won under his management, achievements he described as moments he will cherish forever. “Of course, my dream was to bring more trophies to the cabinet,” he admitted, adding that he is saddened by the end of his journey at the club.

Ten Hag concluded his letter by wishing Manchester United supporters “success, trophies, and glory” in the future.

Following Ten Hag’s departure, Manchester United confirmed that Ruben Amorim, the Portuguese manager from Sporting Lisbon, will step in as the new manager.
